Over the past nine years more than 12 million registered players have fired billions of rounds as they played in millions of matches. These stats clearly show how hugely successful America's Army 2 has been. Our goal for the future is to make the current America's Army game and future releases even more successful than those in the past, and we're determined to see that happen.

For that reason, as we move forward we are concentrating all our resources on future releases of the game. Unfortunately this means that as of December 18, 2011, we will no longer be supporting the authentication system or statistics tracking for America's Army 2. The game will still be available to play in free-play mode, without Honor points being accrued. AA2 will still be the same game, with the same action and same fun. Matches can still be held and competitions won and lost. Just without the point system.

We hope our long time AA2 fans understand that this decision is in the best interest of the development of America's Army and its players as a whole. We hope they continue to enjoy the 2 series as long as they like. If you need help with AA2 please refer to the AA2 Online Game Manual or the Forum Archive, or email us at AACM@americasarmy.com.

19. Why is AA2 in free-play mode and why can’t I earn Honor points anymore?
A. As of December 19, 2011 we will no longer be supporting authentication for AA2, and as a result points will no longer be accrued. You may still play AA2 though, just without the points.

20. Will AA2 ever go back to having Honor points?
A. No. We’ve decided that it would be in the best interest of the game to focus all our resources toward future development of AA.

21. Can my AA2 stats still be tracked if there is no authentication support?
A. No.

22. Is AA2 shutting down completely?
A. No, the game will remain available in free-play mode.

23. With no more authentication support for AA2, will there still be servers to play on?
A. That will depend entirely on the community and will last as long as someone is interested in hosting an AA2 server.

24. Do I need to install Steam to continue playing AA2?
A. No. The AA2 series is not supported by Steam.

They are also making a change to AA3 all those who installed it through Deploy now have to redownload and install it through Steam rofl.

You know that you can still continue to play AA2 after the 18th, don't you? It just means you won't gain honor. Stats etc through BT will be available through the methods already in place except for honor. Although they might have to make a minor change to it.

Look at it this way at least now you don't have to pay $30 a month extra on a server just to fill up a guys bank account.

holy crap, well we cant honestly say that we didnt see this one coming. Freaking blows though. I will keep my AA2 installed and I agree with ori, I plan on moving onto another game we will start kicking ass at. I am still in shock though over what the fuck is going on with AA2 after gaiming on it for so long.

Oh and dont worry stalker, when we do find another game I will hook you up in getting your rig up and running to support it haha.

yea what a load cant even play it for fun because there will be tons of hackers now and nothin u can do to protect the servers that bites .otherwise i woulda liked to still played it.oh and thanks for the thought gunner.

Ah most of the players left are all known to each other, hacks are easily weeded out really.

AC wise AON & ACI are both going to drop support on it and as soon as PB is done PBBans will as well.
